1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using What Went Well ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and Pro subscribers.

2. Description of Service

What Went Well is a micro-journaling application that presents daily reflection prompts and stores your responses. It is available as a web application and an iOS app. Features differ between free and Pro tiers as described on our pricing page.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent free-tier limits

5. Your Content

Journal entries and responses you create belong to you. You grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely to operate the Service. We do not read, share, or use your journal content for any other purpose. You may export your data at any time (Pro tier) or delete your account and all associated data.

6. End-to-End Encryption

If you enable end-to-end encryption, your journal entries are encrypted on your device before transmission. We cannot access, recover, or reset an encrypted passphrase. Loss of your passphrase results in permanent loss of access to encrypted entries. This is a deliberate privacy feature, not a limitation.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($4/mo) or annually ($30/yr) via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time via account settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is permanently deleted. Export your data before closing your account.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Use the Service at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice.
